October Not 2 Shabby Monthly Mood Board Challenge-Take 2

Hello, hello!

I'm sharing another card I designed for the October Not 2 Shabby Monthly Mood Board Challenge! If you haven't seen the challenges and/or have played along in the challenges, you definitely should! :) It's super easy to play along and you even have a chance at winning a $15 gift certificate to the Not 2 Shabby Shop! (More details/rules below)

The mood board, colors, and projects can inspire you in so many ways! With that being said, I know primarily the colors may be blues and whatnot but I went with the coziness of things and the splash of red from the berries.

Here's what I came up with...

See, a little different from the go to of the blues, right?...I just wanted to show really almost anything goes. Everyone gets inspired by different things in different ways, right?!...

So, are you ready to make this card?!...Follow the steps below to create this card or perhaps it will inspire you to put your own twist on things! ;)

  • Start with the EZ Wonder Die #3 and use it with white cardstock.
  • Cut postage die cut into smaller postage stamps.
  • Set aside.
  • Use the EZ Wonder Die #3 with white marker friendly cardstock.
  • Using the die cut 'inside' pieces of the postage stamp die, stamp images onto them using black ink. (note: as you can see, I did several because I wasn't sure which ones I would use or not. I do that all the time. lol Feel free to only stamp the two I used on my card.)
  • Color images using alcohol markers.
  • Add highlights using a white gel pen.
  • Set aside.
  • Use the EZ Wonder Die #3 with patterned paper.
  • Trim pieces from postage stamps to fit inside of the white cardstock postage stamps that were cut from above. (note: the smaller postage stamp you don't need to cut as in there's already a smaller square for it. Though, for the bigger postage stamp I had to cut on the dotted/perforated lines to fit inside of the postage stamp.)
  • Adhere patterned paper pieces to the white postage stamps.
  • Adhere the colored postage stamp images on top.
  • Set aside.
  • Use patterned paper and trim to fit slightly smaller than an A2 cardbase.
  • Using a white cardbase, adhere cut patterned paper to it.
  • Cut a sentiment out from a card front.

  • Layer postage stamps onto the card but don't adhere things yet. (You want an idea of where to put things first, before adhering things down.)
  • Add sentiment to the card using foam tape on the back.
  • Adhere postage stamps to the card using foam tape only on the back of the smaller stamp.
  • Add burlap twine and sparkling enamel dots.

That's all for me. Don't forget to play along with the Not 2 Shabby Challenge...love to see you there!

Not 2 Shabby Monthly Mood Board Challenge-October

Hello, hello!
Happy Thursday, almost Friday! :)

I'm swinging in today to share a card I designed for the Not 2 Shabby 'October' Monthly Mood Board Challenge! Have you played with any of the challenges before?!...They are so fun and super easy to play along! Just create a card from what inspired you from the mood board and/or colors...and you don't even have to use Not 2 Shabby goodies! But, if you do you can enter more than once! There's also a chance at winning a $15 gift certificate to the Not 2 Shabby Shop!! (More details/info. below)

Such a fun mood board and colors, right?!...

Here's what I created...

*Note: This is a photo heavy post...just letting you know. lol ;)

Are you ready to make these cards?!...All the steps are below. I promise you, it's easy!

Let's start with making the 'bear postage' card.

  • Use the EZ Wonder Die with white cardstock (that is marker friendly). 2x
  • After die cutting, cut postage stamps apart. (Cut out all the postage squares from one die cut panel and the other die cut panel, cut postage stamps out but leave a couple together.)
  • Set things aside.

  • Stamp on the bear in black ink onto white cardstock (marker friendly).
  • Color bear using alcohol markers. (I used an off brand from my Copic markers, I just wanted to change things up. So use whatever you have on hand. ;))
  • After use the matching die with the image and then add 'highlights' using a white gel pen.
  • Set aside.
  • Going back to the cut out postage stamps.
  • Using the taller/longer single postage stamp, stamp on the postage images using black ink.

  • Color images with alcohol markers.
  • Do a little fussy cutting with the rectangle postage image.
  • Add foam tape on the back of the rectangle postage label.
  • Add to the upper right corner of the colored postage stamp. (let the edge hang over just a tad.)
  • Add foam tape on the back of the bear and add to the postage stamp.
  • Add foam tape on the back of the postage stamp and adhere to a white cardbase.

The 'bunny postage' card

  • Stamp on bunny image using black ink onto white cardstock (marker friendly).
  • Color image using alcohol markers.
  • Use the matching die with the colored image and add 'highlights' using a white gel pen.
  • Set aside.
  • Use the cut out postage stamp has two postage stamps together.
  • Stamp on images using black ink.
  • Color images using alcohol markers.
  • Fussy cut the postage label image.
Note: Notice my coloring isn't perfect on the smaller stamp, I did an 'up close' of it to be a reminder that things don't have to be perfect! ;)
  • Add foam tape on the back and add to the left top of the postage stamp.
  • Add foam tape on the back of the bunny and add to the right postage square.
  • Add foam tape on the back of the postage stamp and adhere to a white cardbase.

Both cards are pretty much the same with a little bit of twist with the postage stamps and critters. I wanted to keep the color scheme similar with the use of blues.

Fun, right?!...hopefully my card inspired you to create something!

Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge-October

Hey y'all!
Happy October 1st!

Today, starts a new challenge at the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge on the Coffee Loving Papercrafters blog! It's all about a Caffeinated holiday card with the optional use of Super Sponsor Catherine Pooler.

Without further ado, here is my card...

I have some Catherine Pooler stamps and whatnot, but nothing holiday/Christmas themed. I also couldn't think of a way to use what I have to somehow incorporate into a holiday theme. So I just used some 'new to me' sets that I had in my never ending 'new and not used' bin. lol

I kept things simple and just did some coloring with alcohol markers and then some fussy cutting with the candy cane. A nice and simple card, right?!...

Be sure to swing by the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge to see all the amazing creations and to join in on the fun! It's so easy to play along! And did I mention a chance at winning a prize?!...Hope to see you there!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a wonderful day!
