Many thanks

Hey y'all!
Happy Thursday, hope you're week is going well?!...

It's been the first week back to school for my kids. So my time has been with them and getting back to a somewhat normal schedule. ;) Hopefully by the next week or so, things will be smooth sailing and I can figure out when to sneak in some crafty time. Last school year, it seemed nights worked best and that's sort of what I've been doing already. So...I probably just stick with that. ;)

Anyhow, I am swinging in to share a card I made for the current PinkFresh Studio August Challenge. I also was inspired by Alice's card HERE, so I decided to CASE her card and mix it into the challenge. :)

Well, that's all for me today. I'm off to do some blog visits and commenting! :)

Best Wishes

Hey y'all!
Happy Saturday, hope you're enjoying the weekend?!...

It's been rain and thunderstorms here, off and on. So nothing but staying inside for the most part and crafting when I can. ;)

I'm swinging in to share a 'just for fun' card. I FINALLY put to use the Make A Fish die from Waffle Flower! It only has taken me a year...lol...Well, maybe not a year but a long time! lol ;) I fell in love with this die when I first saw it! And I wanted it for the longest time but things never seemed to 'line up for me' or 'I spaced it'. Then I happened to be browsing the internet, when something told me to look for it. I did and it happened to be on sale (bonus) and the rest is history. ;)

Well, thank goodness for a print out on how to assemble this fish! lol I first tried without anything and was easily lost with what pieces go with what. Not that it was bad looking, I just didn't use over half the pieces! lol Thankfully I had some sense to me to look at the die on Waffle Flower and found the chart showing everything. lol Note: I still didn't use every piece because of the direction I was going with things. But I will be making more and using all the pieces for sure. So many options. ;)

Something about me, I love koi fish and so that's what I was trying to replicate. We have so many koi fish at our zoo. There is always this one that is tucked away in a little nook (so to speak) and it is the biggest most awesome koi ever! It is white with accents of black, red, and orange. So that's what led me to my color choices. I even added a touch of silver glitter cardstock. If you really look closely at a koi fish (and perhaps most fish) I swear there seems to always be a shimmer to them!?!...So that's where the silver came from. ;)

Well, I'm sure I talked enough. lol

Enjoy your weekend! :)

I hope you feel beautiful today

Hey y'all!
Hope your week is going well?! :)

I'm swinging in today to share a card I made for the current Altenew July Inspiration Challenge. Nothing like waiting until last minute, right?!  lol ;)

I actually had this card made for awhile but it was giving me a hard time with editing it. So I kept taking a break from it, then going back to it, and on and on that went. lol But I after so many ongoing tries with the editing, I just settle on what I thought was the best photo. ;)

Don't you just love all the layering flowers Altenew has to offer?!...(There are so many I still want. It's a long wish list. ;))

I layered my flowers in the colors from the inspiration photo. Then made a background using just one part of the leaves, rather than layering the leaves. After I simply assembled everything onto my base card and topped things off with some jewels and a sentiment. Simple, yeah?!...

That's all for me today.

Ten Thousand Thanks

Hey y'all!
Happy Saturday, hope all is well?!...

I'm swinging in to share a card I made for the current Paper Smooches July Challenge.

I was able to pick up some of their new goodies and couldn't wait to use some! I say 'some' because I just may have bought too much. lol Is there even a such thing as buying too much of stamps and/or dies?!...Probably. lol

Anyhow, as you can see I kept things nice and simple. ;) I just did a little ink blending, die cutting, and stamping. That's it! Easy peasy, right?!...

Well, that's all for me today.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Enjoy your weekend! :)

OMG Thanks

Hey y'all!
Happy Monday, hope your week is starting off right?!...

Time just keeps flying on by...going where?...I have no idea! lol I'm swinging in to share I simple card I made playing around with the new Taylored Expressions blender brushes. I'm sure most have seen and/or heard about them?!...If not, they are awesome! ;)

I simply did a blended rainbow of colors on a piece of white cardstock. After I used another piece of white cardstock and used the little 'thanks' die that I got with my order. Then used a stitched die for the border and placed things over my blended panel. Simple, right?!...To finish things off, a simple little sentiment and a heart. :)

That's all for me today.

Have a great week!

Do all things with love

Hey y'all!
Happy Tuesday, hope all is well?!...

Things are pretty good here. Just soaking up some sun and getting some crafty time in here and there. ;)

I'm swinging in to share a card I made for the current PinkFresh Studio July Challenge.

I kept things simple and sadly no matter how many times I took photos and edited things, I couldn't get the dry embossing to show up. :( So it just looks like a solid white background, though there is indeed some blooms the spread over most of the background...sigh...

At least for the most part, you can see (hopefully) what I was going for?...I layered the floral circle die cut a few times, to make it pop out some from the background. Then did some coloring with the hummingbird and then used the matching die with it and added it to my circle/card. And lastly, added a little sentiment and some jewels. Pretty simple, right?!...

Well, that's all for me today. I'm off to do some blog visits/commenting. :)

Real friends always share cupcakes

Hey y'all!
Happy Thursday, almost Friday! :) Hope all is well?!...

Things are going okay here. Trying to soak up the last little bit of Summer before my kids start school again. They start back up in August and we all know how fast time goes, so we got to enjoy it, yeah?! ;)

Anyhow, I'm swinging in to share a fun card...no challenges or anything, I just wanted to practice some coloring with markers.

Again, I'm no expert with my coloring skills. But I sure do have fun and enjoy it...that's what it's all about though, right?! ;) I did a little masking with the cupcakes, the image is nice and big, so lot's of playing around you can do with things.

Well, that's all for me today. I'm off to do some blog visits and commenting.

sometimes you win...

Hey y'all!
Happy Sunday, hope all is well?!...

Altenew-June2019-Inspiration

I'm swinging in to share a card I made for the current Altenew June Inspiration Challenge...at the last minute! lol I still have some hours to spare, but talk about cutting it close! I actually wanted to play along from the start but just couldn't get anything to come to me. Until today, that is. ;)

Keeping things simple, I did some stamping on kraft paper and then added a little bit of shading using some colored pencils. I know you may not be able to see much of the red and yellow pencil, but it's there...I promise. ;) I kept everything one layer and actually made two of these cards. So perfect for mailing. That's always a bonus, right?!... ;)

Well, that's all for me today.

Hibiscus hello

Hey y'all!
Happy Friday! :)

*For my AJVD post, please scroll down. ;)

Once again, time has gotten the best of me...with it being summertime and all the other family matters going on it continues to be a roller coaster. And I had a strange experience today. While I was driving, I happened to look down at my phone that was sitting in a little tray, that sits somewhat under the radio. I noticed a little tiny feather on it. Like it just flew in and landed there. I didn't touch my phone and just let it be. When I got home the feather was still there, so I picked up my phone carefully and was going to show it to my husband. Now I saw it on my phone up until my husband opened the door, then suddenly looked down and gone! We looked everywhere for it and nothing. Perhaps it was only meant for me?...Maybe something from my dad?...I don't know but very strange. There's was no feather even in our car to begin with and for something to fly through the windows, I would have noticed that. And for it to be perfectly sitting on my phone for where I had it at...it was something else, I tell you.

Anyhow, just thought I'd share that.
So now onto my card...

I originally was planning on doing some no-line watercoloring. Though, that was just not working for me. So while I was sitting there trying to watercolor, it came to me 'why not do no-line coloring with pencils?'. Being that was calling my name, I switched gears and pulled out my pencils. I still had no idea how that was gonna go, but went with it and stuck with it. I actually enjoyed things so much, I'm planning on doing another card (or so), doing the same thing. ;) I'm no expert at all, but I had fun and it was relaxing at the same time. Please excuse my 'shading' techniques if they are off/not in the right spots...I was just going with the flow. ;)

Well, that's all for now.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a great day and weekend! :)

You're one in a melon

Hey y'all!
Happy Monday, hope your week is starting off right?!...

Things have been pretty good here for the most part. ;)

I'm swinging in to share a simple and sweet card I made. I wasn't thinking about entering it in any challenges or anything and then a 'ding' came to me...Why not join in on the fun at Virginia's Show & Share?!! :)

Pretty straight forward...I added a fun little 'splattered' background using a bright pink ink, some simple watercoloring for my watermelon, and then stamped on a sentiment. Quick and easy, right?!...

That's all for me today.

Thanks so much

Hey y'all!
Happy Thursday, almost Friday! Hope all is well?!...

Just a short and sweet post, today. :)

I'm swinging in to share a card I made for the June Paper Smooches Challenge.

I had no clue in what kind of card I was making! lol Though, it seemed to have come together. At least I think it did?! ;)

I simply did a little masking to make my background and then after used a black marker for making the line. After, I stamped on my sentiment, did some coloring for my pineapple, and then used the matching die with it. To give my pineapple a little more 'pop' I added some foam tape on the back. Easy peasy, right?!...

*Confession: I did mess up on the background some (which you can probably see?). When I had my post it notes down for my mask I didn't realize that it wasn't completely straight from corner to corner. So then I tried to straighten it out and just stamp over it again to make in 'blend' with what I already had stamped. Well, that didn't really work to well, but I thought it gave it a little 'character' so I stilled used it. ;)

Well, that's all for me today.

Trust your soul

Hey y'all!
Happy Tuesday, hope all is well?!...

If you missed my last post, I did an update on what's being going on with me and I also have a giveaway going on...you may want to check it out. ;)

I took things a little easy today and found a little time to create. I remembered seeing the current May PinkFresh Studio Challenge (at the very beginning of May lol), I wasn't sure if I'd miss the deadline or not, but looks like a I have about 6 hours to spare before the cut off. (I made it, yay!) :)

Pretty simple and straight forward card, right?!...I randomly stamped on my image using a couple lighter inks and then one be a brighter ink color. After, I stamped on the sentiment pieces in black ink and then topped things off with some burlap twine. That's it! Super quick and easy.

Well that's all for me.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a great day and see you soon!

An Update, a Card, and a Giveaway

Hey y'all!
Happy Sunday, hope all is well?!...

It has been sooo long since I've actually posted something besides DT stuff, let alone being active in the blogging world. I deeply apologize for not being around much. I've been going through some things since April and honestly, I've been trying to just deal with it on my own. However, I believe there comes a time when no matter how strong you are, you only can be strong for so long before you just need to let things out.

Back in April, which is a hard month for me because of my dad passing away in April (2013). My husband got a call from his mom. It was an 'odd call' so to speak, the timing and how long he was on the phone for and somewhat quiet, I knew something couldn't be right. After he hung up the phone his eyes said it all. He found out that his mom has a short time left with us. My husband quickly left to see his mom and spent some time with her. After about four days he came back home and just kept himself busy. Though, I knew he was physically/emotionally drained. It's been hard on us. We were thinking things may settle down some and then a couple weeks ago he suddenly got a call from his uncle. He needed to go see his mom for one last time. He left for a week and just got back last Friday. He and his mom said the finally goodbyes to one another, knowing they won't see each other again and to his moms request, she doesn't want him or anyone by her when she passes. As hard as it is, he respects her wishes. The hardest part is knowing that the day is going to come when you get that 'phone call', though you just don't know when. And no matter how much you try to prepare yourself for what's coming, you still are never prepared for it. (If that makes sense?...)

Now, in the mix of all this going on, I had quite a few doctor appointments of my own to go to. After doing some tests and blood work, I'm relieved to know that I am in overall good health. I'm a little anemic, which I'm now taking iron for, boy does it make me feel a little 'blah' at times. Though, I tell myself it could be worse, so I shouldn't complain. I also found out that I am going through 'perimenopause'. The transition before officially starting menopause. So it has been quiet the roller coaster for me. But I'm hanging in.

Then on top of all that, I had to take my kids to do testing for school. It was a lot of traveling to and from for a few weeks and the times were all over the place. Thankfully, all that is done now and there is only a week left of school. So we're just finishing up the last bit and then Summer here we come!

Whew!...So that's pretty much what's been going on with me and my family. As well as, still having the everyday things go on...

Okay, now onto my card. I've been trying to stay creative and make things. Though, that's been a hit or miss...though, this time it was a hit. At least I think it was?! ;)

No challenges or anything, I just wanted to use some goodies that I haven't used or used much of. I kept things nice and simple. I just did some coloring with markers and then some die cutting. That's pretty much it. Easy, right?!...

Lastly, on to the giveaway...because I've been absent from my blog and out of the loop for so long, I feel I should give back. I want to thank you all for always being caring, understanding, and truly supportive of me (and my blog). THANK YOU!!

So I want to give TWO lucky winners a $25 gift card to Simon Says Stamp!! :)
(This is from me personally. Nothing has been 'donated' or 'gifted' to me. This is just something I want to do.)

To enter my giveaway, leave a comment telling me 'what you are looking forward to this summer?'...Easy, right?!...I will close out the comments at 12 pm eastern time on June 2, 2019. I will randomly pick the two winners and announce them on my blog on June 3, 2019. *Note: Please make sure I have a way to contact you or that you be sure to check if you're a winner and email me. If chosen as a winner, I will reach out to you but if I can't reach you or don't hear from you within 72 hours, I will have to choose a new winner or winners. Thank you for understanding.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a great day and see you soon!

Hugs

Caffeine gets me kraken

Hey y'all!
Looong time no see...things have been so crazy busy here, as well as having some personal and family matters going on. So, last month and this month haven't been the most fun. Though, I'm trying to push myself through everything and keep going. With that being said, as much as I have been trying to be creative, my crafty mojo is off in lala land or somewhere. lol So frustrating to sit down and nothing seems to work. Then you take a break and before you know it, it's another day or two or three...you get the picture, I'm sure. ;)

Anyhow, I know the Spring/Summer Coffee Lover's Blog Hop has been is full swing! So I wanted to get a least one card in the mix.

I'm just loving The Rabbit Hole Designs stamps!...Anyone else?!...I've been seeing many crafty friends use them and finally took the plunge and bought a few sets. ;) As you can see, I kept things simple. Just some coloring with markers, a die for the border and then a touch of burlap twine. Easy peasy, right?!...

Well, that's all for me.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a great day and hopefully I'll be back more soon! :)

I start off the day with...

Hey y'all!
Happy Friday, hope all is well?!...

*For my AJVD post, please scroll down.*

It's been good here, busy and somewhat tiring, but good. My husband has been out of town for the past week, so it's just been me and the kids. Though, he gets back in later today! Needless to say, we're excited to have him back home! ;)

I didn't really craft much at all while he was gone, until today that is...(I might have done some shopping though. lol)

I'm sharing a card I made for the current Unity Stamp Co. mini Facebook challenge, which is all about rainbow of colors. I was going to just share it on there, but thought I'd share it here too. ;)

So very simple of a card, yeah?!...I used some watercolors and painted them directly on my stamp and then stamped it on my paper. I did quite a few panels because every time you stamped it on the paper you get a different look. Which I love, some were darker with the colors, some more 'blotchy', etc. ;) Once done with my watercoloring, I simply stamped on a sentiment in the middle using black ink and then topped things off with a touch of burlap twine. Easy peasy, right?!...

Well, that's all for me today.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a great Friday and weekend! :)

every birthday needs confetti

Hey y'all!
Happy Friday, hope all is well?!...

Of course things are still busy here, but things are good. :)

*For my AJVD post, please scroll down.*

I'm swinging back in today to share a card I made for the current Altenew April Inspiration Challenge.

Such happy and bright colors, yeah?!...Gotta love the photo, too! ;)

I kept things very simple. I used the all the colors for my confetti and then after stamped on a sweet sentiment in the middle. I was going to leave things as it was, but then thought a frame would look nice around it. ;) So I made a frame using a couple dies and then used some foam tape on the back of it, to give it some dimension. Easy peasy, right?!...

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a great Friday and weekend! :)

You're TURTLEY awesome

Hey y'all!
Happy Saturday, hope all is well?!...

If you been following and reading my blog post, you know that the past little bit has been rough on me. I apologize if some of my posts sounded like a 'debbie downer' (nobody wants to be a debbie downer...don't be a debbie downer lol) (sorry, had to do that). However, I do want to say that I while I still have some things going on, I, myself am doing good. :) I even had a ladybug land on my hand today, so that must be a good thing, right?! ;)

Today, I'm sharing a fun card I made for the current Paper Smooches April Challenge.

You think a sketch challenge would be so easy, but I haven't done any in awhile so this took some thinking for me! But I had fun! :)

I had bought some 'Nuvo Bursts' awhile back and have barely put them to use. (I am so good at doing that. lol) So when I saw this sketch I thought they would work perfectly for a background. ;) After, I did a little coloring with markers for my turtle and then added on my sentiment piece. Easy peasy, right?!...

Well, that's all for me.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a great weekend!
