Greetings! So this is a card I made for the CAS-UAL Friday contest. The challenge was to create a 4x9 card and keep as much 'white' on the card as you can. I'm very happy with my card and now my fingers are crossed :)
Supplies I used: pearl white cardstock (recollections), stamps (botanicals by gina k.), ink(dune and black by colorbox), and soft pink pearls (recollections)

I Miss You...
Happy friday everybody, I hope you all have a great weekend! Last night, though being exhausted from being at the beach half the day with my kids, I made this card. I started going through boxes of my crafting stuff. I was trying to see what I haven't used in quite sometime. I found some black chipboard items that I've only used a couple times. I then found some deco. tape and thought I would use it to cover my chipboard. In my eyes, it ended out working great! I wanted to keep my card fairly simple. I stamped on a simple greeting and added a couple little hearts.
I wish I could tell you the brand of every single item I used but I honestly cannot remember all of them. Guess this is what happens when you have things sit too long?...I've learned now to keep the packages of what things come in or at least write it down. :)
Supplies: kraft paper, pink paper (dotted swiss by bazzill), stamp (whimsy greetings by TPC Studio), hearts, deco. tape, and black chipboard design.
Thanks for stopping by :)

Pinwheels!!!
I have a new found love for pinwheels! They are so cute to me and they're fun to make! I ended up making up a little 'tag' set of three with bags. This set of mine did end up taking me one and a half days to finish. However I was working around my kids, so it could take less time to do.
The tags themselves are pretty simple, for the pinwheels I used a 3x3 square piece of paper. I cut all four corners towards the center and then folded every other corner to the center. I used a 'brad' for the center of the pinwheel. For the stick I used a bamboo skewer. For the grass I used a stencil and a cream chalk to color it in. I also did use a cream chalk around the top of the tag in a blue color. I added my two ribbons at the top, my saying and my little flower with pearl at the bottom.
For the bags I used a 3x3 square piece of paper. I added some floss around the bag and paper (went around three times), then tied it off. For the dragonfly I did paper quilling. This is the part that took me the longest. I do quilling on and off, so it always take me a minute to get back in routine of things. Quilling can seem somewhat hard for some (I was that way at first), I found that getting a start up kit was an easy way to be introduced to it. You can find quilling kits online and sometimes at your craft store. So, for the dragonfly body I used a 'Y' scroll (3" long and folded the paper in half, then rolled the ends outward). For the upper wings I did 'Marquises' (6" long, made size 4 loose circles and then pinched into marquises). For the lower wings I used the same technique as the upper wings. Though instead of doing size 4 loose circles I did size 5 loose circles. After I made all the pieces I glued them onto my bag. I then stamped on my 'hello'.
That's it! Nothing left but to put the tag in the bag! What's funny to me is I actually screwed up one of the tags and thought it was trash. I was so upset and then did some thinking of how to fix it and well, I think it worked! Can you tell what I may have messed up on?...
Supplies I used:
tags w/ bags (sara's surfaces -hot off the press)
papers (brenda walton -k&company)
brads (of your choice)
bamboo skewers
cream chalks (pebbles inc.)
floss (of your choice)
quilling papers
stamps (impression obsession)
ribbon (of your choice)
black ink (of your choice)
flowers (prima)
pearls (recollections)

Birthday Cake!
Okay, so let me tell you this card was such a pain for me to come up with! I have the hardest time with masculine cards (of any type). I have a feeling I'm not the only one who has trouble with this? Well, this is as masculine as I got...
I'm sure they will love the card. I'm always hard on myself to have that 'perfect' card. Even after finishing this card I'm still unsure if it's what I was really going for?...I do think it looks good, my actual vision in my head may have been different.
Supplies I used were somewhat all over the place. I know for a fact I used:
kraft paper (recollections)
pearls (recollections)
flowers (jolee's by you, ek success)
ribbon (celebrate it by basic narrows)
cake stamps (cake shoppe & cake shoppe, too -mint motif/I heart papers)
candle stamp (stampendous -from cupcake set)
Thank you for looking and have a great day.

I'm Back!!!
Greeting's to everyone! I am officially done moving. I don't even know how to describe my move...we'll just say it was interesting and I don't want to move again for a very long time. :)
On top of all this moving I did, I had in the back of my mind that one of my dearest friends has her birthday right around the corner. I thought and thought about what I should make her birthday card look like. And this is what I came up with...
On top of all this moving I did, I had in the back of my mind that one of my dearest friends has her birthday right around the corner. I thought and thought about what I should make her birthday card look like. And this is what I came up with...
Knowing her so well, I went off all the things I know she likes. Animal prints, flowers, the colors, and even added the girly touch of a dress (even though she doesn't wear much of dresses). So, Happy Birthday!
Supplies I used:
animal print paper (DCWV)
solid color paper (Recollections)
big flower (Prima)
hole punch (Tonic)
big black button
black ribbon (Straight 'N' Narrow by Offray)
tag (Making Memories)
crystal rhinestones
stamp (Undeniably You by Unity Stamp Co.)
black ink
foam squares (used on back of the solid paper to raise it up off of the animal print paper).
corner punch

Stamp It! Cards meets Stamping Royalty Blog Hop
I welcome you to the Stamp It! Cards meets Stamping Royalty blog hop! I'm a winner of the 2011 Stamping Royalty Contest! Being a winner this year has been out of this world! I have entered in the Stamping Royalty Contest for the past two years, this being my third year entering. My winning was so unexpected to me. I found out the news two days before my birthday, what a great gift! Ever since winning I feel like new doors have opened for me. It's amazing! I get to talk/keep in touch with the other gal's that won, as well as some others through twitter, blogs, etc. Everybody is truely great and very helpful! It's like one big family, their always there for you!
So, for this blog hop we (Stamping Royalty winners) had to create a card using one of the stamp sets from our prize packages. Being that 4th of July is right around the corner, the colors we decided to use were red, white, and blue. The stamp set I used was 'What's Cookin'?' by Taylored Expressions. I had fun making this card and it made me use colors I normally wouldn't use together. I was happy with my outcome, what do you think?!
I can say 'I truly love stamping' and there are many reasons why! I love how you can take one stamp and turn it into a completely different one. Whether you mask some/all of it, turn it sideways, or upside down, the possibilities are endless! I also love how you can enhance the detail of a stamp. You can enhance your stamp by adding embellishments (ribbon, buttons, pearls, etc.) or just even by coloring your stamped image. With stamping there's so much you can do, it really lets you create a 'one of a kind card'. In my opinion, I think stamping can show a piece of 'you'.
Speaking of you, why not show a little of 'you' to someone?! It's great to give back and the feeling you get when you can make someone smile is 'warm in the heart'. I always try to give back, I do believe 'the more you give, the more you get it return'. That 'WOW' look on someone's face when they see your card...LOVE it! One of the ways you can give is with Operation Write Home. You can help by donating your own cards to them! You can visit them at: http://operationwritehome.org/needs.html Once there you will be able to find all the details and help you need.
