Happy Thursday, almost Friday!! :) Hope all is well?!...

Little bit of a rough week for me, on Monday I got sad news that my grandma passed away. So I took a little bit of time to reflect on all the things she taught me and the things we did together. Bittersweet. She lived quite the fulfilled life, always being around friends and loved ones. She was 94 years old. So yeah...sigh...

Anyhow, I did sneak in a little crafty time to try and take my mind off things. My sweet friend Kimberly was so generous to send me a image from her digi set that she designed. Which you can find at Polka Dot Orchard or HERE. Thank you again, Kimberly!!

Seriously, how CUTE are those critters?!!...
I kept things nice and simple. I also tried going for a more softer/neutral look. I did a little coloring with markers and then topped things off with some burlap twine. Easy peasy, right?!...

Life is beautiful

I'm swinging in this evening to share a card I made for the current Altenew Inspiration Challenge.

 

In all honesty, I didn't think I was going to come up with anything! Everything I pictured in my mind just wasn't working. I'm sure we all been there, right?...Well, I didn't give up,  just rather took a break for a bit. ;) In the end I think things worked out pretty well?!...

Can you believe that I actually forgot about some new goodies I had from Altenew?!...I tried putting a stack of new/never before used stuff on my desk, but then I put things away because I have to have everything clean and organized. So it pretty much defeats the purpose of even trying to have a stack on my desk. lol Though one things for sure, when I come across something I completely forgot about it's a nice 'surprise'! ;)

It is cold here, so I've been staying warm and cozy inside. ;)

I had a little extra time on my hands, so I thought I'd join in on the fun at the PinkFresh Studio Challenge. :)

Sweet, right?!...

I went with using the theme for my inspiration/card. 

I kept things simple, as usual. ;) I stamped my image on in white ink and then just did some coloring with colored pencils. After, I stamped on a couple different sentiments. And that's pretty much it. Easy peasy, right?!...

Happy Sunday, hope all is well?!...

I've been taking easy today, enjoying the nice weather and doing a little bit of crafting. :) I'm swinging in to share a card I made for the current Paper Smooches Challenge. If you didn't see or hear about it yet, they are having a DT call as well. Fun, right?!...

I made a little bit of a longer card than usual but I wanted to capture all of the 'rainbow', so longer it was. For my background rainbow I simply did some watercoloring on watercolor paper. Then I used the PS Pattern Builder die set to make the 'dashes/lines' using white cardstock. After I adhered it to my dried watercolor panel. To finish things off, I used the PS Cuppa Sunshine dies for my cup. Which I choose to just have it be white on white and layered the top piece twice. Then added a sentiment using the PS Caffeinated Two stamp set and a touch of burlap twine. Sweet, yeah?!...

A little festive bee

Happy Monday, hope your week is starting off right?!...

I'm swinging in tonight (it's about 10:00 pm here) to share another card I made for the Coffee Lover's Fall/Winter Blog Hop. :)

Who doesn't love a little festive bee?!...
I thought I should change up things a bit, I don't think I've seen anyone make a festive bee yet?...So I gave him a little red and green sweater. Along with some green mittens and red antennas. And a touch of white for the wings and face. Once I was done coloring my bee, I then added a touch of white around him by doing some ink blending. Simple, yeah?!...

Well, that's all for me.
I've been making rounds of hopping and commenting. Which is a big thing for me because I missed the last couple times. So I'm hoping I'll make it all the way through. Even if it takes me until after things end. ;)

AJVD and WOW! Collaboration Hop

Hey y'all!

Today, is a exciting and fun day!! I'm swinging in to share a couple cards for the AJVD and WOW! collaboration hop!!

You should have came from the talented Jenny Colacicco's blog. If you haven't hopped along yet, you'll want to be sure to start from the beginning! Lot's of fun going on! ;)

So without further ado, here are my cards...

A simple Fall themed card. I made a little stencil out of AJVD leaves & Petals die set and the embossed them in two different WOW! embossing glitters, Vintage Peacock and Turkish Nights . After, I used a sentiment from AJVD Autumn Pumpkin stamp set and stamped it on my card using black ink. Then I used the AJVD Headline Type Alphabet die set to spell 'FALL' and used WOW! Sparkles in  Stroke of Midnight and Celebration .

Keeping with simple, for my second card I used AJVD Scattered Snow builder background stamp. Which I embossed it in Metallic Gold Rich Pale using WOW! metallic embossing powder. Next, I used AJVD Merry Mistletoe die set and added WOW! embossing glitter in Carousel here and there on the mistletoe. Once done, I tied my little bundle of mistletoe together with some burlap twine and then added it to my card. To finish things off, I used AJVD Headline Type Alphabet die set to spell 'HOLIDAY'.

Happy Saturday, hope all is well?!...

It's a beautiful day here, sunny and warm. :) As much as I want to just be outside (which I was out there for a little while) I have some DT work, birthday cards to make, and a few other things to get done. So I'm pretty much inside for the time being. But that's okay. I have the Lifetime movies on and will be crafting while watching. Who doesn't love some Lifetime movies?!...or even the Hallmark movies?!...even the ones I've seen before, I'll usually watch them again. lol

Anyhow, I'm swinging in to share my 'take 2' on the 'Hugs' stamp.

Of course, because my card is on the 'softer' side of things, editing made it a little difficult for me to get things 'just right'...never ending when it comes to photo editing. lol 

I wanted to do something on the softer side, so I choose some purples and then the rest in grey. I was originally planning to just do the whole thing in one color. But after coloring and thinking about it, I thought maybe it would be too much?...Which led me to using grey for the leaves and whatnot. I actually really like how it looks! So probably worked out for the best?! ;)

Well, that's all for me today. I'm off to do some creating and then hopefully later get to some blog visits!

Hello, hello!!
Hope all is well?!...

It has been waaaay too long!! (I'm not counting my DT posts as posting things) Long story, short. September was a bit of a rough month for me and husband. Not only did his mom pass away but there was some things that resurfaced from years back and it took a toll on the both of us. So there were some rough weeks on end and then during the last week of September my husband ended up in the ER, ended up he had a bad case of strep throat. So I had to take take of him for a bit, also while being on the lookout that nothing spread to me or our kids. Thankfully, nothing did. Then fast forward to October and say what?!...October!! Time is just going by way too fast! October is starting off fairly good, just been a little busy and tired. Much better than September so far...hoping it stays that way.

So that's a little insight to what's been going on with me. I sincerely apologize for such a long absent. I should be more 'on top of things' now. ;)

I am swinging in to share a card I made 'just for fun'. No challenges or anything, just a new stamp set from a friend of mine that I couldn't wait to get. :)

Even though I'm no expert with colored pencils (or any medium for that matter), I still enjoying coloring images. So relaxing, right?!...I still have a couple more of these to color and already have some ideas of what to do. Hopefully, you won't mind seeing a couple more?! :)

PinkFresh Studio September Challenge

Hope all is well and you're enjoying the weekend?!...

It's been nice and hot, here! :) So been soaking up the sunshine outside and taking time to craft inside. It's a 'win, win'. ;)

So today I'm swinging in to share a card I made for the current PinkFresh Studio September Challenge.

It's all about 'watercolor/mixed media' and/or using the colors or everything together. I chose to go simple and just do some watercoloring. 

I kept everything one layer because I thought it'd be perfect for mailing out. ;) I did sort of 'fuss' about the sentiment...I just couldn't seem to decide on one, luckily I usually always make two panels of the same when I watercolor in case of mishaps. And that is what happened, I stamped on a sentiment to my first panel and it just didn't look right to me. So that went bye-bye and on to the second panel and thought very hard before stamping it on. lol

Paper Smooches September Challenge

Hope all is well?!...

As you can see I'm back sooner than expected! If you missed my last post about some updates you can read about it here, if you'd like. ;)

Hurricane Dorian decided to just give us some good winds/gusts and rain by 'skirting us' rather than hitting us. So all in all, it was nothing big for us and we're good. I do feel terrible for the Bahamas and know all to well what they're going through. But one thing is for sure, as hard as it is, things slowly start to become again. <3

I don't always do sketch challenges because sometimes they just stump me! But this one, this one seemed to work the first time around! And that's a first! lol

Just a quick update!

Hey y'all!
Happy Monday, I hope your week is starting off right?!

I just wanted to quickly swing in and give a couple updates.

First, as many have probably heard/seen...we have a monster of a hurricane by us. 'Dorian' just seems to be taking her sweet ol' time getting to us! We have been through many hurricanes, tropical storms, etc. but nothing is worse than a slooow moving storm. It's a waiting game and you have to always prepare for the worst and hope for the best. So, we're waiting. We still can't be sure if she's going to just ride the coast or if we're indeed going to get the 'eye'?...And the thing about hurricanes, even when trying to track it, you just never know until it's passed. Things can just in a moments notice and we've had it happen like that several times before. Where we live, we are only about 15 min. to the beach and about 5 min. to the intercoastal. So, we're hunkered down and ready.

Next, as many have heard from awhile ago (if you read my past blog post) my husbands mother had stage 4 ovarian cancer and was in hospice for awhile. He ended up getting a call last Wednesday/Thursday and the wee hours that she had passed away. This being right as hurricane Dorian formed. So, that was a little crazy there and I don't things have really 'set in' yet because of how busy things have been.

Overall, things have just been busy/crazy lately. With my husband working, his mom passing, and hurricane Dorian, one can barely think straight. I've been trying to craft and do a few other things, but it's just not happening at the moment. Once things settle down and get back to being somewhat normal, I'm sure things will fine. Though, for now I just ask that you can bear with me. I will be having some things posted soon, but just not sure when. I have a DT post scheduled for this Friday and that's about it, as of now. I'm hoping it won't be too long of an 'absent' from blogging...I thank you in advance for understanding. <3

Well, that's all for now. I'm off to finish some things around the house and then try to relax some.

Happy Thursday, hope you're week is going well?!...

It's been the first week back to school for my kids. So my time has been with them and getting back to a somewhat normal schedule. ;) Hopefully by the next week or so, things will be smooth sailing and I can figure out when to sneak in some crafty time. Last school year, it seemed nights worked best and that's sort of what I've been doing already. So...I probably just stick with that. ;)

Anyhow, I am swinging in to share a card I made for the current PinkFresh Studio August Challenge. I also was inspired by Alice's card HERE, so I decided to CASE her card and mix it into the challenge. :)
